ADD2

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ADD2 refers to a special interface based on a PCIe slot of a PC motherboard with Intel - chipsets that through the integrated GMA - GPU feature. ADD2 is a continuation of ADD ( AGP Digital Display). Using special ADD2 adapters, the graphic signal can be output to other devices (monitor, TV, HDTV) using various ADD2 cards in digital or analog form, depending on the application. The slot is also referred to as SDVO (Serial Digital Video Output).

The advantage of using an ADD2 card for the end user is the flexible use of the graphic signal. Motherboards with integrated graphics (so-called onboard graphics ) at the time of these chipsets generally only had a simple analog VGA output ( D-Sub socket).
