ADT Security Deutschland GmbH is a subsidiary of the American ADT Security Services based in Ratingen . The product range of the leading brand Sensormatic includes access control , RFID , video surveillance , electronic article surveillance and source tagging .

Another branch of ADT is ADT Deutschland GmbH with four branches in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Further locations are Karlsruhe, Bremen, Hanover and Erlangen. From there, intrusion and fire alarm systems , video surveillance and access control systems for commercial and private properties in Germany are set up, expanded and maintained.

The ADT Service-Center GmbH forms the third associated area with a VdS-certified emergency call and service control center . Around 100 employees look after around 50,000 customers from there and process assignments according to customer specifications. The services include the monitoring of alarms from motion or glass break detectors , closing contacts or fire protection systems as well as elevator emergency calls .

Worldwide

ADT is represented in 38 countries, including Italy, China, the USA and Norway. Together with the parent company Tyco International, around 250,000 people work for the company.

history

American District Telegraph was founded in Baltimore (USA) in 1874 as a letter service. The first fire alarm system was developed in 1915. The development and marketing of burglar, hold-up and fire alarm systems began in 1938. In 1997, ADT was taken over by Tyco International and spun off again in 2012. Since 2003, out of home security systems based on GPS have also been developed.

In 2016, ADT was acquired by Apollo Global Management for $ 6.93 billion.
