AE Larisa 1964 GS ( Greek ΑΕ Λάρισας ΓΣ ) is a Greek basketball team from Larisa .
history
AEL was formed from a 2006 merger. The then first-class clubs GS Larisa and the amateur club AE Larisa were involved. In addition to Olympia Larisa , the newly formed club was one of the two Larisa clubs that have made it to the top basketball division in Greece . Since the 2005/06 season, both have been playing at the same time in the House of Lords.
The club plays its home games at Klisto Gymnastirio Larisas . The arena, which was only built in 1995, can hold almost 4,000 spectators.
After the club was relegated from the first division in the summer of 2009 and had to face major financial problems, it merged with the city rivals to form the newly founded club GS Olympia Larisa .
In addition to the basketball department, the club also offers sports such as football (see AE Larisa ), boxing , fencing , cycling and sport shooting .
