Evangelos Alexandris ( Greek Ευάγγελος Αλεξανδρής , born February 2, 1951 in Greece ) is a former Greek basketball player and current coach.

Player career

Alexandris began his career at Anagannisi Thessaloniki, before he subsequently worked for the two top clubs Aris and PAOK . With Aris he won the championship in 1979 and the national cup competition with PAOK in 1984.

Between 1970 and 1983 Alexandris was a regular member of the Greek national team and took part in the 1983 European Championship. In 13 years he came to 73 missions and scored 345 points.

Coaching career

Alexandris began his coaching career in 1993 with AE Larisa . Since then he has worked exclusively in Greece and coached a number of important clubs such as Aris, PAOK and Iraklis Thessaloniki , AEK Athens and GS Marousi . Besides the Greek Cup (1995 with PAOK), his greatest successes were winning the Saporta Cup (2001 with Marousi) and the FIBA ​​Champions Cup (2003 with Aris). Alexandris became the only Greek coach to date who could win two European titles.
