history

AIDA32 was developed by the Hungarian Tamás Miklós and offered as freeware for several years. In March 2004 the development of AIDA32 was stopped. The program was henceforth called Everest and was now being marketed for a fee by the Canadian company Lavalys, while development continued to take place in Hungary. Everest could display system and overclocking information as well as hardware properties and had a diagnostics menu to view and solve hardware problems.

AIDA64 appeared as a further development in autumn 2010 and Everest was discontinued. The newly founded Hungarian FinalWire Ltd. under the leadership of Tamás Miklós took over the software rights to Everest and has continued the product range under the name AIDA64 ever since.
