Everest is (written by the manufacturer Lavalys "EVEREST") a common system , diagnostic and benchmarking program for Windows - operating systems and compatible , and the successor of AIDA32 . The successor to Everest is AIDA64 .
Details
AIDA32 was developed by the Hungarian Tamas Miklos and offered as freeware for several years. In March 2004, the development of AIDA32 was stopped, the program was renamed and marketed under the new name EVEREST for a fee by the Canadian company Lavalys , while development continued in Hungary. The Everest program could display system and overclocking information as well as hardware properties and had a diagnostics menu to display and solve hardware problems.
In October 2010, AIDA64 appeared as a further development and EVEREST was discontinued. In November 2010 the newly formed FinalWire Ltd. took over based in Hungary and under the management of Tamas Miklos, all software rights to EVEREST and is now continuing the product range under the name AIDA64.
Versions
In addition to the "Everest Home Edition", there were two editions of Everest on November 1, 2006:
- Corporate Edition
- Ultimate Edition
The Everest Home Edition was free up to version 2.20 for private use. From version 2.50 the freeware was changed to a shareware license.
The Corporate Edition includes a network testing, as well as the possibility of a remote control and a connection to SQL - databases . The Ultimate Edition lacks the network, database and remote control capabilities, but has a few more diagnostic tools.
System requirements
Lavalys Everest runs on all 32 and 64 bit Windows systems. The last freeware version 2.20 of Everest Home, which is still widespread in the network, is, however, severely limited in its functionalities for hardware detection under Windows Vista 64-bit versions, as the unsigned driver that Everest Home requires for this is Bit cannot be installed. The official website for Everest is at a minimum a 486 - processor with 32 MB RAM on.
