The ASV Hüttigweiler is a wrestling club from the Illingen community in the Neunkirchen district in Saarland .

The association was founded in 1908 under the name Deutsche Kraft Hüttigweiler . After the First World War , the team got stronger and stronger and rose to the league in 1934, at that time the highest class in German wrestling. In World War II, many wrestlers were from Hüttigweiler their lives. Nevertheless, the club got its independence back in 1949 and rose in 1956 from the Landesliga B back to the top division.

In the mid-1960s, the association realized that young people needed more support. As early as 1971, this realization led to the championship title of the A-youth wrestler of the ASV Hüttigweiler. In 1972 and 1974 the A-Jugend was again German team champion and in 1973 runner-up.

In 1970 the men were allowed to move up to the newly founded Regionalliga Südwest, but after three years they had to accept the relegation. But once again it was the youngsters who helped the club back on its feet. In 1977 Hüttigweiler celebrated promotion to the 1st Bundesliga . In the early 1980s, however, ASV Hüttigweiler, which had been increasingly equipped with non-local wrestlers, rose to the 2nd Bundesliga .
