The AS Huningue (officially Association Sportive de Huningue in 1919 ) is a French football club based in the town of Huningue (German Hüningen ) in Alsace Haut-Rhin .
history
The AS Huningue was founded in 1919 in the town of Huningue, the right on the German -französisch- Swiss border triangle lies.
The club played from 1924 to 1927 three seasons in the highest French regional class, the Alsatian honor division ( Division d'Honneur Alsace ).
During the German occupation of France in World War II from 1940 to 1944, the football clubs from Alsace-Lorraine took part in the games of the German Reich . The AS Huningue occurred at this time as FC Hüningen and managed in 1943 to rise in the Gauliga Alsace . In the 1943/44 season, FC Hüningen took third place. In the 1944/45 season , there was no more gaming operations due to the war. Since 1945 the club played again as AS Huningue in the French league system .
In the 2019/20 season, which was prematurely canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the club played in Season F of the Liga Grand Est Régional 2 , which belongs to the seventh French league level.
