Andrea Schlager

Andrea Schlager (born June 16, 1982 in Knittelfeld ) is an Austrian television presenter and journalist . She is best known as a presenter for MotoGP , tennis and ice hockey on Servus TV .

Life

Schlager grew up in Knittelfeld. Even in high school, she worked in several Formula 1 races, including at the nearby Red Bull Ring , for example in Bernie Ecclestone's office in the FOM. After graduating from high school, she first studied English and marketing in Graz and then successfully completed the sports course for sports journalism in Salzburg.

Schlager worked in the sports department for six months. This was followed by activities for various production companies in front of and behind the camera. She moderated talk shows such as the broadcast Vienna live on the Vienna city broadcaster W24 .

In 2013, the Upper Styrian was engaged by the Austrian private television broadcaster ServusTV. After a casting, she became one of the main presenters of the show Servus am Morgen . There she was also on site as a live reporter at major events such as the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014 and the Soccer World Cup in Brazil 2014. During the soccer world championship , she reported daily for five weeks with reports from a slightly different perspective - as a presenter and editor at the same time. For the quality of these short documentaries, she was also nominated for the Austrian Sports Journalist Award.

Although Andrea Schlager stayed in the morning show team until 2017, she increasingly switched to sports. From autumn 2015 to spring 2020, she hosted the program Servus Hockey Night live from the most important game of the round. And since Servus TV acquired the broadcasting rights for the MotoGP World Championship in 2016 , she has been the presenter of the programs live on the race tracks worldwide to interview pilots and team bosses from the start grid to the award ceremony. Austrian motorcycle legend Gustl Auinger is at your side as an expert .

In 2019 she was named “Austrian Sports Journalist of the Year” for her achievements by the industry magazine Extradienst.

Schlager has also been moderating tennis broadcasts on Servus TV since 2019 - for example at the Australian Open in Melbourne or the US Open . Since Servus TV has the free TV rights exclusively for Austria and local hero Dominic Thiem was in the finals in Melbourne 2020, these programs have very high ratings.

Personal

Schlager lives in Salzburg, before that Portugal was her adopted home for a few years.
