A Plea for Purging is a US-based Christian metalcore - band from Nashville , Tennessee .

history

The band was founded in Murfreesboro in 2005 and gave around 200 concerts in its first year of existence. The band's name means "An Appeal to Clean Up". The lyrics are about their perception of modern American Christianity and about worship. In an interview, singer Andy Atkins described the band's goal to give glory to God ("Our goal is to give glory to God, call that a 'Christian' band or not, that's our goal."). The band has released two music videos so far, "Malevolence" and "Shiver".
