A song of joy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Song Of Joy is a song by the Spanish singer Miguel Ríos from 1970. The song rose to number 1 in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland .

On the occasion of Ludwig van Beethoven's 200th birthday , the Argentinian orchestra leader Waldo de los Ríos arranged the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony in the style of James Last . Waldo de los Ríos, who is not related to Miguel Ríos, hired him as a singer. A Song of Joy became a world hit. In Germany, it held first place for 15 weeks. Ríos sang the title, among other things, in the German hit film That knocks down the strongest twin .

Miguel Ríos' successor single was the composition Sunshine and Rainbow by Ralph Siegel , but this disappeared from the charts after four weeks.
