Waldo de los Ríos , actually Osvaldo Nicolás Ferrara (born September 7, 1934 in Buenos Aires , Argentina , † March 28, 1977 in Madrid , Spain ), was an Argentine pianist , orchestra conductor , arranger and composer .

life and career

Waldo's mother was a well-known folklore interpreter. He himself studied at the Conservatory in Buenos Aires and went to Spain in 1962.

Waldo de los Ríos had a similar status in Spain as James Last in Germany . He directed The Manuel de Falla Orchestra .

Waldo de los Ríos achieved international fame in 1971 through his classical arrangements in the style of contemporary pop music. His single Mozart Symphony No. 40 reached number 10 in the German charts.

In addition, between 1958 and 1977 he wrote the score for over 30 films.

In 1977 Waldo de los Ríos suffered from depression and committed suicide .
