DNA was the dance project of DJs Nick Batt (born Nicholas Batt) and Neal Slateford (* in Bath ) from Bristol , England .
Band history
The duo DNA became known in 1990 through the remix of the Suzanne Vega song Tom's Diner , which reached number 1 in the charts in several countries. They added computer beats to the original . Other singles mainly reached the charts in Great Britain.
DNA released another remix of a Suzanne Vega song, Rusted Pipe , in 1990 and a radio mix by Rosemary in 2000 . A new mix of Loreena McKennitt's The Mummers' Dance achieved number 1 success on the Billboard airplay charts in 1997 . From 1998 the active time as DNA ended.
Between 2000 and 2005 Nick Batt worked for Goldfrapp on three albums, Felt Mountain , Black Cherry and Supernature . He received an Ivor Novello Award for co- writing Strict Machine , a song from the Black Cherry album .
