A Time for Justice is an American documentary - short film about the history of the civil rights movement from 1994, produced by Charles Guggenheim . The film won an Oscar in 1995 for Best Documentary Short Film and received support from the Southern Poverty Law Center . The film is part of school lessons in the USA and has been available on DVD in a restored version since September 2011.

The documentary presents a brief history of the civil rights movement using historical recordings and linguistic descriptions of those involved. Incidents that are taken up include the Montgomery bus boycott , the Little Rock school integration , the demonstrations in Birmingham and the Selma-to-Montgomery marches in 1965.
