AAEON Technology is a manufacturer of industrial PCs (IPC) and their assemblies with its own development department and headquarters in Taipei , Taiwan and has been part of Asustek since 2011 .

History and Development

AAEON Technology was founded in 1992 as a manufacturer and distributor of single board computers. Two years later, in 1994, AAEON established its own development department to convert the company's own production lines to compact boards (especially small motherboards), half-size CPU cards and full-size CPU cards.

In the same year AAEON achieved ISO-9001 certification and became a specialized OEM / ODM manufacturer.

In 1999, AAEON was the first Taiwanese IPC manufacturer to be listed on the stock exchange . In the same year, the AAEON Foundation was established to support technology education.

In 2000 AAEON took over Astech Inc., a leading manufacturer of Panel PCs. With this takeover, AAEON expanded its product portfolio to include industrial work stations , panel PCs and LC displays.

In 2011, Aaeon was taken over by Asustek ( Asus ) and the shares were taken off the stock exchange.

Initially specialized in simple single-board computers , AAEON has also established itself in other IT areas. Today, in addition to the original product lines, box and panel PCs are also offered, as well as extensions for all existing systems. In the meantime, AAEON has also specialized in the medical sector under the name AAEON Medical in solutions for archiving images, for communication systems, radiology , surgical and intensive care, care and diagnosis.
