Aart Kemink

Aart Kemink (born May 30, 1914 in Rotterdam , † 2006 in Toronto , Canada ) was a Dutch- Canadian painter.

life and work

Aart Kemink was born in Rotterdam in 1914 and studied at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. In the late 1940s Aart Kemink shared a studio with MC Escher and in the early 1950s he worked with Karel Appel and the artist group CoBrA .

In 1958 Kemink emigrated to Canada.
