The Abaga Waterfall is a natural attraction located about 15 km southwest of Iligan City on the Philippine island of Mindanao , more precisely in Barangay Abaga, which is part of the municipality of Baloi in the Lanao del Norte province . The waterfall is roughly twice as high as the better known María Cristina waterfall , which is also in the Iligan City area. In contrast to this, the Abaga waterfall is not fed by the agus , but by numerous underground springs that flow together at the summit of the waterfall.
The name is possibly derived from the Cebuano word "abaga", which means "shoulder" and could thus describe the shape of the cliff.
