The Abashiri Quasi National Park ( Japanese 網 走 国 定 公園 , Abashiri Kokutei Kōen ) is a quasi national park located on the northeast coast of the island region of Hokkaidō in Japan . The park, founded in 1958, extends over an area of approx. 370 km², the majority of which is on the water. The park is divided into several areas, which include the following lakes, sorted according to their size:
- Saroma Lake ( Saromako )
- Notori lake ( Notoriko )
- Abashiri Lake ( Abashiriko )
- Mokoto Lake ( Mokotoko )
- Tofutsu Lake ( Tofutsuko )
With the IUCN Category V, the park area is classified as a Protected Landscape / Protected Marine Area . The Hokkaidō Prefecture is responsible for the management of the park.
