Abdinur Darman

Galadid Abdinur Ahmed Darman (* 1953 ) is a Somali businessman, engineer and politician who sees himself as the rightful President of Somalia.

Career

Galadid Abdinur Ahmad Darman was born in 1953 to the Somali diplomat Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Darman. He completed an engineering degree in the USA . In 1997 he founded a bank in Mogadishu with Malaysian participation . Mohamed Hassan Darman was, according to Focus, in the background in 1991 when the warlord Mohammed Farah Aidid came to power .

From 2005 to 2006 the “ Union of Islamic Courts ” (ICU) declared war on various warlords in Somalia. Darman sided with these Islamists. The ICU captured Mogadishu and implemented Sharia law until it was overthrown . He describes himself as a "moderate Muslim".

Engagement of German mercenaries

Darman became known to a wider public in Germany in December 2009 when he wanted to win the Asgaard German Security Group, a German private security and military company, for his services in Somalia. The former managing director of Thomas Cold Gardener then announced that Asgaard was planning to deploy a three-digit number of armed forces to Somalia. There they are supposed to take over Darman's "far-reaching and exclusive tasks". Darman later contradicted the company's representations.

The public prosecutor's office in Münster investigated the then managing director and reserve sergeant Kaltengärnter for violating Section 109b of the Criminal Code . A German citizen is prohibited from doing military service on behalf of a foreign power. The police searched nine of the company's properties at the then headquarters in Telgte near Münster and found a. several thousand rounds of ammunition.
