Abdulnasser Gharem

Abdulnasser Gharem (born June 4, 1973 in Khamis Muschait ) is a Saudi Arabian artist. His works can be seen at the British Museum , the Victoria & Albert Museum , Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Culture and Information. His modern art incorporates Arabic patterns and motifs.

Life

Gharem has been a soldier for 23 years and made it to lieutenant colonel . During this time he started painting. In 1992 he studied art at the King Abdulaziz University . He lives in Riyadh and is the center of a group of artists there.

Works

In 2011 one of his sculptures was auctioned at Christie's for $ 842,500 . Gharem donated the money to a training program in his home country.
