Abekawamochi

Abekawamochi ( Japanese. 安 倍 川 も ち ) is a Japanese sweet from the Abe ( Abe-kawa ) region in Shizuoka Prefecture, known since the Edo period .

Abekawamochi is a rice cake ( mochi ) that is sprinkled with a mixture of soybean flour ( kinako ) and sugar after baking . Instead of sugar, sugar syrup ( Kuromitsu ) can also be used.

Similar Japanese sweets are ohagi and warabimochi .
