Kinako

Kinako ( Japanese き な 粉 ) is a soybean flour used in Japanese cuisine .

Production and content

To make the pale yellow soybean meal, soybeans are roasted, peeled, and ground. Its flavor is commonly compared to that of peanut butter . Kinako is mostly used as a condiment for desserts, for example for mochi . It is also enjoyed as a drink, stirred in milk or soy milk.
