The song is a four-part short chant characteristic of the Taizé community . The song is sung over and over again in a meditative manner. It can be supported by solo chants. There are a number of notation for instruments: keyboard , guitar , flute , oboe , oboe- clarinet , cello, and bassoon .

It can be found in the current song booklet under number 139.

In addition to German, the song can be sung in two other languages: Italian (Ma tu conosci) and Japanese .

History and expansion

The song is subject to the copyright of “Ateliers et Presses de Taizé”, so it cannot be assigned to any composer known by name. This is the case with many newer Taizé songs. It was released in 2000.

The text goes back to a morning prayer by Dietrich Bonhoeffer :

The song has been set to music several times, for example on the Taizé CDs: "Music Of Unity And Peace" (January 1, 2014), "Mane nobiscum" (March 15, 2010), "Taizé - Instrumental 3" (July 1, 2010 ) as well as on the album “God strengthens you” (studio choir Bergneustadt, June 13, 2014).
