Apcar Baltazar or Abgar Baltazar (born February 26, 1880 in Bucharest , † September 26, 1909 there ) was a Romanian painter of Armenian descent. He was a representative of Art Nouveau in Romania.

Baltazar studied fine arts at the National University of the Arts in Bucharest from 1896 to 1901 . His teachers included the portrait painter George Demetrescu Mirea (1852-1934) and the art historian Alexandru Tzigara-Samurcaș (1872-1952). Apcar Baltazar had exhibitions with “Tinerimea artistică” ( Young Art , 1903) or in the Bucharest Athenaeum (1907).

He was also an art critic for the magazines Viaţa romanească (Romanian Life) , Convorbiri literare (Literary Conversations) and Voinţa naţională .

The Muzeul Național de Artă al României showed a retrospective in 1980 under the title Apcar Baltazar (1880–1909) , for which a catalog was published.
