Abhishek Yadav (born June 10, 1980 in Kanpur ) is an Indian soccer player and plays for Mumbai FC and the Indian national team as an attacker.

The storm talent attracted attention from a young age with a high hit rate. Abhishek Yadav was the top scorer in the Mumbai League in 1998 with the Rashtriya Chemical Fertilizers . With Mumbai University he won the university championship in 1999 and scored 25 goals in eleven appearances. In addition to his football career, he studied there and graduated in political science . After a year at Mahindra United , the center forward moved to the Churchill Brothers for one season in 2001 . In 2002 Yadav signed a new contract with Mahindra United and won all major titles in India with the club. 2005/06 they became champions and cup winners , Mahindra also won the Durand Cup and the Mumbai League. In 2007, the new club Mumbai FC was founded and the attacker moved to Mumbai in the 2nd division, where they immediately celebrated the championship and rose to the I-League .

Abhishek Yadav was invited to the Indian national soccer team for the first time in 2002 and was able to celebrate victory in the LG Cup in the same year, where Vietnam was defeated in the final . In 2008 he won the AFC Challenge Cup with India , which meant that the national team was also able to qualify for the 2011 Asian Cup for the first time in 24 years. Yadav also won the Nehru Cup with the national team in 2007 and 2009 .
