Abigail Lawrie

Abigail Lawrie (born 1997 in Aberdeen ) is a Scottish actress . She was best known in English-speaking countries for her role in the BBC adaptation of the JK Rowling novel A Sudden Death .

Lawrie was born in 1997 in Aberdeen and grew up there with her two brothers until she was 14 years old. She then moved with her family to Twickenham , London , where she attended Harrodian School . There she played in many theater productions at her school, including a two-week guest appearance at the Edinburgh Festival .

Already with her first film and television role, Lawrie became known to a larger audience in 2015 when she played the teenage Krystal Weedon, who grew up in difficult social conditions, in the film adaptation of JK Rowling's novel A Sudden Death . In the autumn of the same year she could also be seen on stage in London, she starred in the production of When We Were Women by the Orange Tree Theater . In 2017 she played Sophie Lancaster in the BBC film Murdered for Being Different , which is based on the 2007 murder of Sophie Lancaster, a high-profile juvenile delinquency in England. In the same year she was also seen in a supporting role in the French film The Power of Evil and in a leading role in the television series Tin Star .
