Abraham Lüttringhausen
Abraham Lüttringhausen (* October 1684 in Elberfeld (now part of Wuppertal ); † November 1756 there ) was Mayor of Elberfeld.
Lüttringhausen was born the son of the yarn bleacher Abraham Lüttringhausen (1649 to approx. 1698) and his second wife Helena Teschemacher (1655 to approx. 1705) and was baptized on October 18, 1684. The father ran his business on the farm in front of the wood near Elberfeld, but later moved to the city. There the son Abraham worked as a merchant and on June 17, 1704 married Helena Wülfing (1678–1741) from Elberfeld. She was the daughter of Gottfried Wülfing (1633–1695), the mayor of 1694. The marriage resulted in nine children, four of whom died young. Among other things, her son was Johann Abraham Lüttringhausen , who was mayor in 1757.
Abraham Lüttringhausen was first proposed as mayor in 1724, but was not elected. In the following two years he was a member of the council before he was proposed and elected for the office of mayor in 1732. Thereupon he became city judge of Elberfeld in 1733 and from June 19, 1934 he was lay judge of the city court.
