Abraham Ng Tolentino (born February 23, 1964 in Tagaytay City ) is a Filipino politician (Lakas Kampi CMD) and functionary.

Life

Abraham N. Tolentino attended San Sebastian College - Recoletos, Manila (SSC-R Manila) in the Sampaloc District of Manila . He was Master of the Masonic Lodge Tagaytay 165.

mayor

Abraham Tolentino, also known by the nickname Bambol , was mayor of the Philippine city of Tagaytay City from 2004 to 2013. He is a member of the Lakas Kampi Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas Kampi CMD) party. From 1986 to 1992 and 1995 to 2004, his older brother Francis Tolentino was Mayor of Tagaytay City and later chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

After the mayoral election in 2007, Abraham Tolentino was sued by opposing candidates and the electoral commission because they believed that the sealing of the ballot papers had resulted in irregularities due to the nomination of election workers. Upon appeal, the action was dismissed as unfounded.

Member of the House of Representatives

In the elections for the 16th Philippine House of Representatives on May 13, 2013, Abraham Tolentino stood for the 7th electoral district of Cavite Province against Gilbert Remulla and won the election with 53.84 percent of the vote.

Sports official

Abraham Tolentino is General Secretary of the Philippine Chess Federation. He is also President of FIDE Zone 3.3, which includes the chess federations of Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

He is also president of the Philippine cycling organization Philcycling, a member of the board committee of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) and president of the kickboxing organization Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas . He has been President of the Philippine Olympic Committee since 2019 .
