history
The on a peninsula in northern Lake Como (opposite Dongo location) monastery, whose church and cloister have been preserved from the 13th century, was in the early twelfth century by the Cluniac Reforms established in a 1488 Coming ( sinecures monastery converted) and in 1798 by the Piedmontese Republic repealed. Through the atonement of an entrepreneur, the monastery came into the possession of the Cistercians of Casamari Monastery in 1938 and was made a priory in 1970 .
The monastery today
The prior of the ten monks is currently Ludovico Valenti, who has lived in the monastery since 1967. In addition to outstanding monuments and frescoes, the monastery, which is well developed for tourists, has a rich library. It lives from selling its own products.
