The Abbey of San Fruttuoso , actually the Abbey of San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte , is a monastery complex on the bay of the same name on the Italian Riviera di Levante . It belongs to the municipality of Camogli in the Italian metropolitan city of Genoa .

The founding of the monastery named after Fructuosus of Tarragona goes back to Adelheid of Burgundy . Since 1983 the Benedictine abbey has been one of the architectural treasures of the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI). On the seabed of the bay of San Fruttuoso there is also the Christ statue Cristo degli abissi , which was erected there in 1954.

The Abbey of San Fruttuoso is not connected to the road network of the region and can only be reached by boat from Camogli or Rapallo or via a hiking trail at the foot of Monte di Portofino , which dominates the Golfo Paradiso .
