Walter Lürzer

Walter Lürzer (born July 9, 1942 in Salzburg ; † April 14, 2011 there ) was an Austrian entrepreneur in the advertising industry.

Lürzer was a co-founder of the advertising agencies " TBWA Frankfurt" and "Lürzer, Conrad & Leo Burnett ". Afterwards he was chairman of “Lowe, Lürzer” and from 1988 to 2010 he led the master class for graphics and advertising at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . Since 1984 he has worked as the publisher and editor of the magazine Lürzer's Archiv , which collects print advertising, TV spots and digital design from around the world.

During the Creativ Club Austria gala on March 14, 2008, Lürzer was made an honorary member of the CCA. In 2009 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of German Advertising by Wirtschaftswoche and the General Association of Communication Agencies.

Walter Lürzer was Chairman of the Art Directors Club competition , which in 2008 comprised a total of 8,689 works and is viewed by 314 jury members.
