Art Directors Club
The Art Directors Club ( ADC ) is a professional association of leading art directors from the advertising industry, which was founded in New York in 1920 with the aim of promoting quality in advertising and looking after the next generation.
The "Art Directors Club of Europe" was launched in 1990. At the annual ADC * E Awards - The Best of European Design & Advertising - agencies and campaigns from all over Europe are honored. The jury is made up of 60 creatives from the European advertising world. These decide on the awards to be presented. as well as the Grand Prix.

In addition to representing the interests of its members, according to its own statement, improving creative performance and promoting young talent are among the most important tasks of ADC Germany. To this end, the ADC organizes competitions, promotes publications, seminars, lectures or events as well as further training.
The ADC Germany is divided into six regional sections: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt , Hamburg , Munich and Stuttgart . Each section elects a board for a two-year term. In addition, a national board member is elected for the areas of design, digital media, editorial, event & KiR, teaching & research and advertising. Both the regional and supraregional board members sit on the presidium of ADC Germany, which was introduced in October 2011 as part of a structural reform of the association's management. The members of the ADC meet once a year for the annual general meeting.
Jochen Rädeker was spokesman for the executive committee until 2012 , then Stephan Vogel, who was also elected President of the ADC Germany.
Competitions and Awards
Once a year, the ADC asks the creative industry to submit creative work for awards at the ADC Festival. There, the work is judged by several juries made up of ADC members and awarded bronze, silver or gold “nails”. The ADC Festival was held in Berlin from 1994 to 2009 and in Frankfurt am Main from 2010 to 2012. The ADC Festival has been taking place in Hamburg since 2013. The ADC festival takes place at the same time as a congress.
Every year, as part of the “ADC Night of Honor”, a prominent personality is awarded the title of “ADC Honorary Member”. Particularly well-known honorary members were Vicco von Bülow , Helmut Newton , Jean-Remy von Matt and Christoph Schlingensief . The ADC also awards the titles “ADC Lifetime Achievement”, “ADC Customer of the Year” and “KfW Rookie Agency of the Year” (young talent award).

ADC Switzerland was founded in 1976, has the same goals as the German association and today has 152 members. Once a year, the ADC asks the industry to submit the best work and have it judged and awarded a prize by a jury made up of ADC members.

In Austria, the Creativ Club Austria, founded in 1972, represents the same goals and is - like its German and Swiss counterparts - a member of the European umbrella organization ADC of Europe . At the annual gala, the most creative works of the previous year are awarded the CCA Venus in gold, silver and bronze.
