The Associação Acadêmica e Desportiva Vitória das Tabocas , or Acadêmica Vitória or Vitória-PE for short , is a Brazilian football club from Vitória de Santo Antão in the state of Pernambuco .

history

The association was founded on May 6, 2008 as the successor association of the Associação Desportiva Vitória and is primarily dedicated to promoting young talent. The club name is a reminiscence of the victory of a Luso-Brazilian guerrilla force against a Dutch army in the battle of Monte das Tabocas on August 3, 1645 in the Dutch-Portuguese War . The men's team played for the first time from 2009 to 2011, then in 2014 and since 2016 again in the top division of the state championship of Pernambuco .

The women's team from Vitória has meanwhile replaced that of Sport Recife as the dominant team and has won all national championships since 2010. In 2011 and 2013 she reached the final of the national cup competition and was able to compete in the Copa Libertadores Femenina in 2012 and 2014 .
