Acapickels
The Acapickels were a Swiss women's music cabaret group from Zurich founded in 1989 .
history
Fritz Bisenz founded the group "Covergirls" in 1989 together with the actresses Denise Geiser and Bettina Dieterle . In 1990 Regula Esposito joined them and the quartet was called «Acapulcos». In 1991 the “Acapulcos” painted pimples on their faces for a gig and from then on called themselves “Acapickels”. During Denise Geiser's absence abroad, she represented Pascale Wiedemann, and Co Gründler was also part of the group for four years. Since 1995 the line-up has consisted of Fritz Bisenz, Jasmin Clamor-Liechti, Regula Esposito and Denise Geiser.
Typical of the "Acapickels" were their stage characters made up of honest women in garish costumes, old-fashioned handbags and support stockings. They gave themselves the supposedly characteristic Swiss names Barbara Hutzenlaub, Lotti Stäubli, Helga Schneider and Juliette Blamage.
Their farewell tour “Acapickels Go to Las Vegas” ended on April 30, 2008 in Zurich. A legend was invented for the last program, according to which the "oldest heart choir band" was about to break through in foreign-speaking countries and would only appear in the USA in the future. In fact, the artists did not want to rule out future solo projects. With their last stage appearance on April 30, 2008 and after more than 1,400 appearances in 18 years, the Acapickels broke up as a group.
