Achegour (also: Acheggour ) is a rather inconspicuous - as a "gas station" located approx. 120 km west of Bornustraße - nevertheless a regionally significant water point (well) on the northern Aïr - Bilma route from the orientation point Arbre du Ténéré to Dirkou in the north Niger . Achegour is located about halfway between the eastern foothills of the Aïr and the Kaouar valley in the middle of a sandy depression of the ridge of the Falaise of Achegouar in the Ténéré desert .

The water level of the contained well is approx. 2-3 m deep. The water contains a lot of baking soda and table salt and tastes slightly salty. The water is drinkable. However, camels are reluctant to drink the water.

There are several acacias and tamarisk trees by the Achegour fountain.
