Achille Zavatta

Achille Zavatta (born May 6, 1915 in La Goulette , Tunisia ; † November 16, 1993 in Ouzouer-des-Champs , Loiret department ) was a French circus - clown , rare artist , trainer and musician as well as founder of the circus.

Growing up in a circus family, Zavatta was part of the artist group Trio Zavatta with his sister and brother as a child . From the 1930s he became known as the clown Auguste . From 1947 to 1951 he directed the Bostok Circus . From the 1950s onwards, Zavatta was touring with various circuses and often seen on television with them. He also had small supporting roles in French feature films. In 1978 he founded his own traditional circus, Cirque Zavatta .
