Achim Rogmann

Achim Rogmann is a German university professor and legal scholar with a research focus on European customs and foreign trade law as well as world trade law .

Career

Rogmann graduated from the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia in Duisburg in 1982 with a degree in administrative management , and in 1987 he passed the first state examination in law at the University of Münster . After legal clerkship and the second state examination, he studied at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. In 1998 he did his doctorate with Rolf Stober at the University of Hamburg .

Rogmann joined the federal finance administration in 1990 and worked in the upper finance districts of Düsseldorf and Frankfurt am Main. Until 2000 he was a lecturer at the Federal University of Applied Sciences in the field of finance, most recently as a government director, and taught European law and European customs law. He then became professor for public commercial law and European law at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences . There he is also the dean of studies and chairman of the examination board of the Faculty of Law as well as the university's anti-corruption officer. Since 2005 he has been teaching at the University of Münster in the interdisciplinary master’s course “Customs Administration, Law and Policy”.

Rogmann provides advice and expert opinions on customs law issues around the world. In the winter semester 2009/10 he was visiting professor at Murdoch University . He is the editorial advisory board of the trade journal Außenwirtschaftliche Praxis and from 1997 to 1999 he was co-editor and editor of the “Informationsdienst Beamtenrecht NW aktuell”.
