Wheel hub with axle nail. (But here that does not exist) Davor Befestigungssplint for Runge

An axle nail is a component of an axle on wooden spoked wheels . It prevents the hub from shifting in order to prevent the wheel from sliding off. The axle nail is inserted across the axle in front of the wheel. The lower protruding part is often folded over to prevent it from falling out, or it has a hole through which a strap is pulled to prevent it from falling out. Depending on the region, the belt is also called Lünse, Lunen, Lohn, Lonse or Lung.
