Achylie (from the Greek ἁ- a- [ negative particle ] and χυλός chylos "juice") describes a lack of digestive juices of the stomach and / or the pancreas .

species

The disease can be divided into two forms:

  • Achylia gastrica (the absence of gastric juices)
  • Achylia pancreatica (the absence of pancreatic juices ).

causes

Such diseases can be triggered by a tumor or chronic atrophic gastritis in the stomach . A failure of the exocrine secretion (formation of digestive juices) of the pancreas is usually an indication of an occlusion of the Vater's papilla by a stone or, more rarely, by a tumor of the head of the pancreas.

Symptoms and Treatment

The symptoms correspond to their underlying illnesses such as tumor or stone occlusion. The treatment is based on this.
