Description and history
The typical farm bourgeoisie , which today is located directly on the town's market square , consists of a residential building, a former cow and horse stable and a farm workers' house. It originated in the second half of the 19th century. At that time there was still a residential and commercial complex between Langen Strasse and Hauptstrasse, which spatially separated the courtyard from the market square. When these buildings fell victim to a major fire in 1945, an open space was created in this area, which was initially designed as a green area for several decades. This green area with a fountain, however, had to give way to an expansion of the market square in 2007, which now extends to Langen Straße.
The construction of the two-storey house is dated between 1851 and 1900. The house is a massive and plastered half-timbered building with a gable roof . A two-storey farm workers' house with a saddle roof and half-timbering and a single-storey stable building with a saddle roof are also dated to the second half of the 19th century .
The historic building ensemble, which was extensively restored after the fall of the Wall, is now privately owned. A travel agency can be found in its premises.
