Acrosathe annulata is a fly from the family of the lynx flies (Therevidae).
features
The flies reach a body length of 9.5 to 11 millimeters. Her body is light gray in color, the thorax is long, hairy white. A frontal callus is not developed. The head has a cinnamon-brown band on the forehead and is hairy black. The antennae are black, the wings are completely transparent. On the abdomen, the second to fourth, and occasionally also fifth, segment at the base is provided with a dark brown spot on the front edge. The anal segment is black and reddish at the back. The last four abdominal segments are short on the sides, protruding with black hair.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is distributed throughout the Palearctic and can be seen in sandy habitats, especially on coastal and inland dunes, in summer.
