Action Sports Awards

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Action Sports Awards are an audience vote, in which the German “Sportsman of the Year” in fun and extreme sports is determined every year .

Since 2008, the trophy has been awarded at the end of each year to athletes from fun and extreme sports who have achieved exceptional achievements in the current year. In a total of ten categories - snowboarding , freeskiing , mountain biking , surfing , windsurfing , skateboarding , freestyle motocross , BMX , kitesurfing and wakeboarding - the respective “athlete of the year” is determined.

In each category, a jury consisting of five experts from the respective sport nominates five freestylers who, in their opinion, are most likely to deserve victory at the Action Sports Awards . The nomination is followed by an internet voting, in which everyone has the opportunity to vote on one of the five nominees on the awards homepage. The one with the most votes in each category will ultimately win the Action Sports Awards title.
