Kristin Boese
Kristin Boese (born June 1, 1977 in Potsdam ) is a German kitesurfer and multiple world champion (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).
Career
In her youth, Boese was active as a handball player. In 1998 she started windsurfing.
She started kitesurfing in 2002 and started a professional kite surfing career in 2004. In 2005 she won the first world title at the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA) and was able to defend this title in 2006.
In 2007 she switched to the "Kiteboard Pro World Tour" ( KPWT ) and became the overall world champion and world champion in course races and waves. In September 2007, photos of her appeared in the German edition of the men's magazine Playboy . In 2008 she was voted “Best Kitesurfer of the Year” at the Action Sports Awards .
In 2009 she started for the "International Kiteboarding Association" (IKA). Boese is also campaigning for kitesurfing to be included in the program of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2013 she was named FAZ Female Athlete of the year . In 2014 she settled in Maui ( Hawaii ) with her partner Sky Solbach .
