Activate is a German Eurodance project that was initiated in 1993 by the producers Alexander Stiepel, Andreas Hötter, Mike Griesheimer and Thomas Detert, who worked together under the name A-Team.
background
The act initially consisted of Detert and Griesheimer as well as singer Nicole Wetzel and keyboardist Manfred Poppe. After the debut single Let the Rhythm Take Control became a club hit , Poppe left Activate and devoted himself to his own project X-Fade. Wetzel was replaced a little later in the studio by Rachelle Rack and in live shows by Nanni Zagar.
The debut album Visions was released in 1994. In 1995 the single Save Me , which climbed into the German and Austrian Top 25, was the trio's only chart hit .
