Ada Palmer (2017)

Ada Palmer (born 1981 ) is an American historian , fantasy writer and composer . Her debut novel Too Like The Lightning won the Compton Crook Award 2017. She is the recipient of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in Science Fiction . Ada Palmer received a Ph.D. in 2009. at Harvard University . Since 2018 she has been teaching early modern European history with a focus on the Italian Renaissance as an Associate Professor at the University of Chicago .
