Adalbert Dufek
Adalbert Dufek (born November 1, 1902 in Vienna ; † August 16, 1960 ) was an Austrian chemist, fire director and commander of the fire department of the city of Vienna.
Life
Adalbert Dufek studied chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna, graduated with a degree in engineering and joined the Viennese fire brigade on May 10, 1928 , where he worked for a long time as an on-call officer. On July 1, 1957, he was appointed as the successor to Franz Priessnitz as fire director and commander of the professional fire brigade in Vienna. After his death, Franz Hawelka followed him in this role.
In the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association he was chairman of the technical committee for professional fire brigades, a member of the executive committee and a member of the technical committee for fire fighting technology. Dufek was also an employee of the technical standards committee for fire protection and was a tester at the state-authorized test center for fire fighting equipment in Tulln on the Danube .
