The Adam A500 aircraft is a twin-engine business aircraft in a low- wing design from the former US manufacturer Adam Aircraft Industries . The production of "Triton Aerospace" is to be resumed (as of April 2011).

history

The aircraft is based on the Adam M-309 , which was manufactured by Scaled Composites . The first flight of the prototype took place on July 11, 2002. The second prototype flew for the first time on February 28, 2003. On May 11, 2005, the design was approved by the FAA . There are (6/2005) 65 orders. The first customer machine (serial number: 0006) was delivered on December 31, 2005.

After the company's insolvency in February 2008, the facilities were first taken over by the Russian “AAI Acquisitions” and, after its insolvency, in 2009 by “Triton Aerospace”. The production of the A500 is therefore to be resumed in a modified form as a turboprop machine.

construction

The two engines are mounted in front of and behind the fuselage nacelle . The double tail girders are connected by the horizontal stabilizer. The machine has a pressurized cabin and a retractable undercarriage and is largely made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic .
