Adam Laloum

Adam Laloum (born February 25, 1987 in Toulouse ) is a French pianist and chamber musician .

Life

Laloum began playing the piano at the age of ten. First he studied since 1999 at the age of twelve at the Conservatoire National de Toulouse . In 2002 he moved to the Conservatoire de Paris , where he was tutored by Michel Béroff . During his student years in Paris he already gave concerts with important musicians. In various master classes he worked with well-known pianists such as Dmitri Bashkirov , Paul Badura-Skoda , Pascal Devoyon and Jean-Claude Pennetier .

In June 2006 he graduated from the Paris Conservatory with the Diplôme de formation supérieure de piano , but continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in the class of Géry Moutier . There Laloum gave concerts with the conservatory orchestra conducted by Peter Csaba . In 2007 Laloum won the Maurice Ravel Prize at the Académie Maurice Ravel and then performed with a chamber music formation at the Festival de Printemps in Saint-Jean-de-Luz . He later won the prestigious Clara Haskil International Piano Competition .

As a chamber musician and soloist, Laloum is a regular guest at various festivals such as the Ruhr Piano Festival , the Verbier Festival , Festival international de Colmar (2012) and the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad . He is a laureate of the Fondation de France (2006) and a scholarship holder of the Fondation Groupe Banque Populaire (2007–2010). In 2009 the French studied in Evgeni Koroliov's class at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Most recently, in October 2011, he won second prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics international piano competition .
