Verbier Festival
The Verbier Festival is a music festival started in 1994 by Martin Engstroem. For 17 days in July, international stars of classical music such as Evgeny Kissin , Martha Argerich , Thomas Quasthoff , Lang Lang , Yuja Wang , David Garrett and Sol Gabetta gather in Verbier against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps . The aim of this festival is to establish contacts between established artists and young talents.
concept
The festival is designed as a large workshop with concerts and attracts around 35,000 visitors annually. During the summer festival there are daily free concerts and street shows in various locations as part of the Verbier Fest'Off .
In the Verbier Festival Academy renowned teacher working with young talent, and the two Verbier Festival orchestras can collect young artists experience under the direction of leading conductors.
The festival is financially supported by the municipality of Bagnes , Loterie Romande , the canton of Valais and the Sandoz Family Foundation. The Verbier Festival has been a foundation since 2005 .
