from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adam Müller , called Millerche, (born October 9, 1863 in Somborn ; † December 26, 1932 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German folk poet , singer and humorist in Hessian dialect .

Life

Müller was born as a farmer's son on October 9, 1863 in Somborn. He learned the tailoring trade and came to Frankfurt am Main as a journeyman in 1886. Already during his apprenticeship he appeared as a club humorist. After taking the master craftsman's examination, he opened a tailor's shop, next to which he also ran a general store. He also appeared in public bars, most recently in the two Frankfurt variety theaters Schumann and Kristallpalast .

Müller took up current and traditional subjects. He sang about the “Ald Brick” and the Frankfurt “Wäldchesdaach” as well as local events, for example the German Gymnastics Festival in Frankfurt in 1908 or technical achievements such as the flying machine of his compatriot August Euler or the zeppelin. He invented the role figure of the "Balser" [= Balthasar] The "Äbbelwoi-Balser" stands for the long-established Frankfurter, to whom Müller gave a voice in his cheerful and contemplative lectures.

Müller left numerous sound recordings. As early as 1907 he discussed Edison gold cast rollers and later records from the makes Grammophon / Zonophon, Odeon, Beka and Parlophon.

Müller died in Frankfurt am Main in 1932 at the age of 69.
